Teen HealthWe have discussed about women’s health, men’s health and kid’s health. It is appropriate to talk about our teenagers as well. Compared to our teenage time, today’s  teenagers are facing more physical and emotional demands than they can handle. Along with technological advances comes new problems for them. Peer pressure, Bullying, Temptations, Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking, Body image issues and the list goes on and on.

As a teenager they go through changes both body and mind. Their body is on it way to becoming its adult size and choices they make now is going to affect their adult hood, especially their food habits. Teaching them healthy habits including eating nutritiously and being physically active, can help them feel good, look good and do their best in school, work or sports. They might also prevent diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis, stroke and some cancers when they are older.

It might be hard to make them choose a healthy life, since they might want to make their own choices, according to what they learnt and what their peers do. That is why it is very important to start early, since their childhood. Their is a saying ” Old habits die hard “. Also, we as parents has to be a role model in showing them the right way through our everyday activities.
