Why water is so wonderful!

Why water is so wonderful!Water is essential for all areas of your health, but that is not the only reason why water is wonderful.  Water is very affordable, easily accessible and it is naturally found within the fruits and vegetables that you should already be eating.  Water is so readily available, because our bodies physically need it to survive.

Drinking water on a regular basis has been known to reduce your risk of heart attack and other cardiovascular diseases.  It can also improve your flexibility and physical strength by providing lubrication for your joints and muscles.  Water gives your body what it needs, so you can exercise to your true potential and achieve more physically.  Water helps to flush the toxins out of your body which improves your skin and cleanses your colon.  For the same reason water also can help you to lose weight by aiding in the digestion process.

Water is essential to a healthy lifestyle because it replenished our body and protects us from dehydration.  Our body needs water to exist.  When you consider that 60% of our bodies are made up from water, 70% of our brain is water, and 90% of our lungs are made up from water; then you realize how essential water is to keep our body functioning at its best.

Every day you lose water by perspiring, urinating and waste elimination.  In order for your body to perform properly, you need to replenish your water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water throughout the day.  Most people recommend 8 glasses (which is about 1.9 litres) to avoid hydration, but a little more won’t hurt.  The Institute of Medicine determined that an adequate intake of water for men is about 3 liters and about 2.2 litres for women.

A lack of hydration usually starts off with either cramping or a horrible headache, but it can quickly lead to heat stroke.  It is important that you recognize the symptoms and start drinking water as soon as possible.  If you do not start hydrating immediately, the heat stroke can quickly result in organ failure, brain damage or a stroke.  In cases left untreated, heat stroke can quickly lead to death.  Simply by not drinking enough water, your entire body can shut down.  Your body needs water long before you feel thirsty, so you need to recognize the signs of dehydration.

Anytime you are exercising, you need to pay attention to your water intake to make sure you are properly replenishing your body.  The same goes for anytime you spend outside on a hot day since your body is sweating away your water reserve.  Just remember that if liquid is bring released through your skin, it needs to be replaced as quickly as it is escaping.  Drink before you start to sweat, while you sweat and after you sweat to avoid dehydration.

Dehydration is a scary and serious health issue that could have fatal results, but it is completely preventable.  Don’t wait until you start feeling ill to replenish the water that is fueling your body.  Make sure you are consuming water throughout your day and increase your consumption if you are perspiring.

Water helps your kidneys, liver, colon, muscles, joints and heart function properly, so your entire body is performing to the best of its abilities.  Water is a cleanser, a hydrator, an energy booster and an essential part of your overall well-being.   Water is simply wonderful!
